1st Session of the New Year!
Last weekend I had my first photography session for 2015. It was a head shot session for Sierra who is going to pursue modeling. Since it was so cold out side we decided to focus on indoor photos. Plus, I am finding that I am interested in playing with lights and trying out new techniques. For this set of photos I set up two hot lights. 1 that was position right above her and the other was at face level to her in front. Then I added my on camera flash and had my daughter hold a reflector to make sure to fill in any shadows on her face. Then I edited the photo to even it out and given it a "fashion" matte finish that I have been noticing lately from some fashion photographers that I follow. I am pretty pleased with how this looks and the mom called me and told me she loved all her photos!
Of course, I still wanted to do some outside photos. This is because this time of year the light is always so soft and you get great back lighting from the sun. So we put on our boots and jackets and head into my back yard which is open and backs up to farmland that is not being used but still privately owned. I get some great photos in my own back yard.
