Pure Barre Partay!
Early last month I did a grade 3 sprain to my right ankle. Grade 3 is the worst kind of sprain you can get and according to the doctor will take up to 4 months to heal completely. I have not been able to run or do much in the form of exercise since my injury. For the first two weeks after my injury, I couldn't drive. Once the doctor cleared me for driving he said I could do exercises that do not require high impact movement or for me to bear weight on my ankle for an extended period of time. What was I going to do? I am crazy without exercise. So I did what anyone else would do, I hit the Barre. I mean Pure Barre :) . This is a combination of yoga, ballet, and small movements using your body weight against you. The best part, you are on your feet for about 20 minutes of the class while the rest of it focuses on core. After about a month I introduced myself to the manager because I heard she was getting married. She already has a wedding photographer but she asked me to do the 2 year anniversary party for the studio. Of course I would! Fun night and the instructors were good sports about taking some funny photos with the props.
